Well, it's not exactly news, but Rat Rock is reopened. You can now go back to where it all began for the City Climber's Club: Central Park. While many members don't realize it, the club was originally founded to ensure that people could climb in Central Park.
The Club certainly came a long way since then, through the infamous rubber tire era to our current clean set up. How many people remember the rubber tire era? It's funny, but one can be sitting around at Smith Rock and the guy you're talking to mentions having a piece of shredded tire that they took home as a souvenir nine years ago.
